Theres 2 alternative answers to this question. 1. while he was filming harry potter, he was homeschooled on the set. so was emma and rupert and the other kids. 2. he possibly did go to a school before he started filming. it also states on wikipedia that " Radcliffe was educated at two independent schools for boys: at Sussex House School, a day school in Cadogan Square in Chelsea in London and at the City of London School, a day school in the City of London, where he studied for AS levels. He achieved A grades in the three AS-levels he sat in 2006, but then decided to take a break from education, and did not go to college or university "

Part of Hogwarts was filmed at Oxford, other parts were a sets built. The actual filming locations can be found at: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0241527/locations http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0304141/locations I hope this helps.

What should I expect from work experience at a primary school

What should I expect from work experience at a primary school?
I'm in year 10, and I want to be a primary school teacher. I know I'm not likely to be teaching or anything at work experience, but what sort of thing will I be doing? I used to go to the primary school, but everything has changed now. I have an interview, what will they ask me? Also, for anyone who has already done this, what are the advantages and disadvantages of work experience at a primary school? UK answers only please. (: Also, how can I impress the staff to get a good report at the end?

Hiya, I did work experience last year in a primary school, what I did was listen to the children read, help put up posters in the classroom and when the kids were set work to do I went around and helped them out. In your interview, they'll just ask general things like why do you want to go here for work ex, what are your plans for the future, what are you expectations ect. Finally, advantages: the kids are really friendly and kind, i felt really happy while I was there - always smiling. Disadvantages: I felt so tired at the end of the day! because your putting your heart and soul in to the kids i felt drained loool! I enjoyed it lots and its confirmed for me what I want to do, i hope it goes well for you. :)

How does the UK school system work

How does the UK school system work?
I'm 13. So, which grade would i be in if i lived in the UK? I'm in 8th grade living in the US. Thanks. :]

They are called years We start primary schol in recpection & leave in year 6(5th grade). High school starts at 11 & ends at 16 . You would be in year 9 (: same as me.
2 :
It depends. If you only just turned 13 (since September 1st) then you'd be in Year 8. If you are going to turn 14 anytime between now and the end of August 2010, then you'd be in Year 9. :]
3 :
You would be in year 8 if you have just turned 13 ,or year 9 if you are nearly 14, which is the 2nd/3rd year in secondary school. secondary schools usually take 11-16 year olds. Some take up to 18 year olds if they are colleges as well. Hope this helps :)
4 :
i think you would either be in year 8 or year 9 depending on when your birthday is, so you would either be in first or second year of high school.
5 :
We don't have grades over here. And its different depending on where about in the UK you live. Scotland, England/Wales and Northern Ireland all have separate education systems. In Scotland, instead of grades you have primary 1-7 (I think you's would call this elementary school?) then you have 1st year all the way up to 6th year (which are the high school years). In England, you have year 1, year 2, and I'm not entirely sure what year it goes up too. Northern Ireland...I have no idea how their system works. I'm Scottish, and here you would be in 2nd year or 3rd year depending on when you birthday is. If you have a birthday between and including the months of March-August you start school when you are 5 years old and if you have a birthday between and including September-February you start school at 4 1/2. So if you started at 4 1/2 you would be in 3rd year, but if you start at 5 you would be in 2nd year. Hope this makes sense.
6 :
In the UK they are called years. If you turned thirteen this September of later you would be in Year 8 and if it was before then you'd be in Year 9. First you go to two years of Nursery Then Primary School Reception Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Year 6 Then you go to secondary school Year 7 (age 11 to 12) Year 8 (age 12 to 13) Year 9 (age 13 to 14) Year 10 (age 14 to 15) Year 11 (age 15 to 16) Lower Sixth (age 16 to 17) Upper Sixth (age 17 to 18) Then you leave and go to University.
7 :
They are called years. You would be in Year 9 unless you turned thirteen after this August, then you would be in Year 8.
8 :
well we have Nursery (Kindergarten) between 3 - 5 (but some can go into Nursery earlier its not mandatory till age 5 when you go into whats called Reception, its a full normal school day 9:15 til 3:15 then you have years 1 to 6 so age 6 to 11 highschool starts years 7 -to11 = age 11 to 16 then you can choose to leave school (but if you want a future) you go onto A-levels (these are normally at highschool but you can go to a college to do these) they are called year 12 & 13, but more commonly known as A-level year 1 & 2 or Sixth form (especially if you go to college for them) you can also leave at 16 and go to college to take specialized courses e.g i went to take my NVQ level 1 in Childcare and then you have to do up to NVQ 3 to get a good position (so 3years) you can do these courses to become a builder, plumer, beauty etc..... then we have University (can only do after getting good A-levels or level 3 in say and NVQ qulification or whats called a foundation year, its 1 year and normally in the same catergory as your choosen uni course (so i wanted to do zoology in uni so i did a foundation in animal management to get in) you normally go to uni from 18 to 20 but a lot of students are mature students 30plus etc... you would be in year 9
9 :
year 8 :) in secondary school

Advice for moving school from UK to USA

Advice for moving school from UK to USA?
Right, i am moving soon and would like to know everything there is to know about a typical school in the USA (an average size school). I only know what schools there are like from what i have seen in Movies, so can you tell me if there are any groups of people and cliche groups? Just any info that i need and tips on getting through school and how to act at first. Will i fit in? I am 15 so what 'grade' am i in? And any other different things i should know. Thank you!

The way american movies show schools is hardly what they are like..most of them are your basic hellhole that you will be trapped in for the next four years..same issues like anywhere else in the world..bullies.preps,geeks and outcasts all consist inside amercan schools..really depends what city you will be moving to.
2 :
Well, there's 5 years of Elementary School, 3 years of Middle School, and 3 years of High School. You should be in your first year of High School. And there are a few groups of people... school in the USA is almost exactly like in movies. There are the jocks, sluts, preps, emos, nerds, and the lowest group of people that the popular kids don't even notice. You'll fit in if you just be your self ^^ Have fun in the USA :D Btw what school are you going to? and in what state?
3 :
hi! =) well every school is different and if you are 15 you are probably going to be in 10th or 11th grade, most likely 10th. unlike what the other person said there is 6 years of Elementary school: kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade and 5 grade 3 years of middle school: 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade 4 years of high school: 9th grade, 10th grade, 11th grade and 12 grade. after that you can go to college if you want, but you have to pay for that yourself. my advice is you go to college, because you need to go there to get a good job. well if im going to be honest, i really like high school! there are cliches. different kids that fit into groups like nerds, emos, popular kids. its not quite like the movies though. you should act outgoing! one of the worst things you can do is just blend in with the wall. get noticed! join some clubs that you find interesting. there are TONS of them. and be friendly. people would probably be really interested in you and want to talk to you because you are from UK, so you have more of an advantage than someone from the US moving to a new school over here. last year a guy moved here from england and lots of people talked to him and hes pretty popular. im not sure what accent you have but im sure people will go crazy over it like they did with his! :D don't let anyone scare you into thinking school here is bad. its pretty nice. so what state are you moving to? :D

There are a ton for each but you have to choose one or the other if you are serious about it. They are both totally time consuming. *Btw, in Juilliard you can only choose one major. Either acting or music. Don't get your hopes up of attending this school I think they take 7 or 9 actors in the the program each year. This is a link to a juilliard music student (piano). You would have to play this well to get in. (Although he does have a pleasant voice, he is not a vocal major.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnRA_MFlGek

Well once you get into the school it gets very easy. You will need to contact their department for internationals and they can and will help you with everything. The main thing you will need is a student visa and as long as you have your letter of acceptance and enough money to finance the visa its pretty easy to do. Will you answer mine? http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkeCiAsCRV8v.yKMV6F4LLZFKXRG;_ylv=3?qid=20091127185132AA9NU0d

Don't forget that a law degree in the USA is a graduate degree. You will need to first hold a bachelor's degree before you can apply to enter law school. Therefore, you would save yourself a huge bundle of money by doing your undergraduate studies at university in the UK before applying for law school at UCLA ( or any other law school in the USA). Next, make sure that you maintain a very high average grade throughout your undergraduate studies. Finally, you will need to take the LSAT before you are ready to apply to law school. Hope this helps.

differences in going to US / UK / Aust unis - law school

differences in going to US / UK / Aust unis - law school?
I understand that all are based on English common law. But I've also been told that being based in singapore, it would be better for me to go to a UK school since SG follows the same legal system as the UK. So what exactly is the diff btwn UK and US law schools if both are based on English common law (according to wiki)? And if there IS a difference, which system do Aust unis follow?
Higher Education (University +) - 1 Answers

If you get your LLB from UK universities, when you go back to Singapore you need to obtain the Graduate Diploma in Singapore Law (1 year programme) and Postgraduate Practical Law Course (5 month programme) before you can start your pupillage/apprenticeship. Cons: Time required to complete the whole journey is longer than time required to complete LLB with local universities in Singapore (NUS or SMU). Pros: UK law degree is widely acceptable in jurisdictions like Malaysia, HK, Australia. If you have LLB from UK universities, you just need to take a module of Australian Constitutional Law if you want to do your pupillage in Australia. .

When do they start primary school in UK this year? (I'm talking about Catholic primary schools)?
I thought everyone will start on the 3rd Sept but I read somewhere online recently that Catholic schools may have different start dates? How true is that? I tried contacting my daughter's school these days but no one answers - I think because everyone's off on their summer 6 week holidays. Most schools in England go back on 3rd September but it's possible that there are local variations or that a school might have decided to use 3rd September for staff training. Why not contact your local Child Services and see if they have any information about the particular school you want to know about.

junior school children are aged from 7/8 to around 11. It depends when their birthday is in the school year
2 :
Junior school children are age eight to ten years old (the American equivalent of Third to Fifth Graders). Children age five to seven go to Infant school. Children age eleven to sixteen then go onto to high school. Junior schools are only found in England and, even then, in some areas, they have primary schools instead which combine infant and junior schools (so kids from five to ten go to school in the same building).

Are you referring to a private high school? You basically take an exam or two. I don't know about the UK though. In the US, we take the ISEE or the SSAT for high schools and fill out the applications available online or by mail. You'll first have to contact them for a information booklet and go from there. There are many private schools out there, but you'll want to pick the right ones. There's actually a private prep school counterpart to the college Ivy League. Some safe bets would be some of the top-notch New England Schools like Exeter, Andover, Choate, etc.). These schools all have websites that have all the information you'll need. The admissions people are pretty friendly too so don't hesitate to call them. The admissions standards are pretty high. I don't know how they compare your grades to if you're international though nor do I know what the average scores are. Aim for greater than 90th percentile on the ISEE though in all the subjects. You'll also need some extracurriculars. They like ECs that really stand out, not so much the basic ones everyone has.
2 :
Go to the school's website and read the information, it will tell you how to apply. Some schools will have online applications, some will have print out applications that you mail to the school, and a few will have to send you applications. Also, you should ask for an application packet even if you apply online. Sometimes there is information in there that isn't on the website. Usually you just give your address online and they'll give it to you. In many big cities in the US, the application process for September 09 is almost over. Usually application due dates are in early January. Although some schools take applications later. Also, many schools cannot take foreign students, but some can. Will your family be moving here? Do we get primary and secondary school books from the school in UK or do we buy them

Do we get primary and secondary school books from the school in UK or do we buy them?
I am going to the UK and I need to know whether we buy school books or do we get them from the school for free. And what is the syllabus (text books) for 10th grade (O levels) in secondary schools in the U.K? Please guide me. Thank you. :)
Primary & Secondary Education - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
We don't do O levels in the UK. Haven't done for over 20 years - I was in the last year to do them and I'm 41. If you mean Year 10, that's the first year of GCSEs. I would expect the school to provide most of your books, though you might be asked to buy things like your English texts. If you really do mean 10th grade, that's the equivalent of the _second_ year of GCSEs and will be a problem. You will probably have to go into year 10 and be a year older than everyone else, or you'll have too much of the course to catch up. There isn't "a syllabus". You'll get to choose your GCSE subjects, and within that what you study will depend on what exam board your school uses. The school will decide what textbooks to use.
2 :
O-Levels don't exist any more. They haven't existed for over 20 years, and were replaced by GCSEs. And there's no such thing as '10th grade'. There is 'Year 10' which is for pupils aged 14-15, if that's what you mean. Yes, the school will provide your books. However, there is no one syllabus. It depends what subjects you've chosen. UK school kids choose their GCSE subjects in Year 9. A few subjects, like English and Maths, are compulsory. Others are your own choices. Moreover, all schools don't use the same textbooks. It's the school's choice which particular books they use for different subjects. What do you mean by 'primary and secondary school books'? Primary school is aged 7-11. Secondary school is aged 11-18. You won't need primary school books if you're GCSE age. To be honest, you need to do a lot more research on the school system here, as you seem really confused.

Well my dear, you went and put the cart in front of the horse! Only if your "tuition" fee was "contingent" upon your UK Student Visa. I see no other way legally, that is, unless the learning institution takes "pity" on you. Unfortunately you now know that you should have "obtained" your student visa first, then applied to the school, and then paid your tuition. Why were you refused? Let us know, and maybe we can help you out. Good Luck, and try "begging and pleading" with the administration of the school to get you money refunded. Tell them as soon as this matter is rectified, you will register. You could offer to leave a "small" amount of your money, in good faith, on deposit. No harm in asking and trying.

If you really want to be noticed, you have to try and get into the National Youth Theatre - that's where Orlando Bloom, Ed Westwick, Daniel Day Lewis, Rosamund Pike, Helen Mirren, David Walliams, Derek Jacobi and many other famous actors got their start. They have summer programmes (already closed for this summer, auditions were in March/April) that you can talk to your parents about for next year http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Youth_Theatre http://www.nyt.org.uk/

From my experience, life in any of them is a soap opera! Ooooh so much drama, every day... Do you mean which school has had the most graduates go on into soaps recently? You'd need to do your research. Get the names of about a dozen young actors who have joined soaps fairly recently, and look up where they trained. Wikipedia's quite good for basic information on actors.
2 :
You are limiting yourself if you only want to work in soap opera. Many of the actors in soaps have had formal training at a drama school and unless started as a child actor (usually from one of the children's theatre schools) most have done a variety of work before (and after) being in a soap. It is very rare nowadays to spend your whole career in one TV show. Have a look at the National Council for Drama Training's website and see if there is a course you are interested in.

Parents with children in secondary school (UK ONLY PLEASE)?
Are you happy with your childs school? IF not then why? Also what do you thihnk of AAcademy schools? Is your childs school an Academy or a specialist school? HOw does that work out for you>?

I'm very happy with my child's school. If I wasn't I wouldn't pay the fees to send her there. It's an academically selective private school. The kids in the bottom set there get similar results to the very brightest kids at the local comprehensives (all of which are specialist in one thing or another). I think you really have to go with your gut feeling. Every time I've walked into a school to look round I've instantly either thought "yes" or "no". I've not been far wrong yet. (My son was unhappy in the later years at his primary school, but he loved the first couple of years which were what we'd looked at most when deciding where to send him).

PostGraduate Question about a UK School

PostGraduate Question about a UK School?
Im a UC Davis student, really interested in going to the UK school for a masters. I was wondering how much aid can they give you if you parents makes an incredibly low amount of money?
Higher Education (University +) - 1 Answers

1 :
You are not eligible for aid in the UK as you must reside in the UK for three years. However you might be able to get funding through Stafford Loans if you go to an approved school in the UK. With that said you will also need to get a student visa from the UK government and ensure you make you application well in advance of the program's start date to ensure you complete all of the required paper work. Finally you will have to prepare yourself for a very different educational system in the UK and a completely different mode of learning. The more you can do to prepare yourself the better off you will be.

Whats the difference between med school in the US and med school in UK

Whats the difference between med school in the US and med school in UK?
What are the differences? I'm sorry if I come off sounding like I haven't attempted to do my research... but I'm sort of confused... I heard it sucks doing pre-med in college (harder to get to med). Also, do people still actually have time to unwind and have fun in med school?
Higher Education (University +) - 1 Answers

In the US... You must attend a US accredited college or university. During this time you must complete a set of pre-medicine courses. Some schools allow you to just concentrate in pre-medicine, in this case you will not graduate with a degree but just a certificate of completion. Some schools require you to declare a major along with pre-medicine (like my school...). During this time you will apply to medical school and take your MCAT. Medical school is four years and in your third, you will apply for residency programs. Graduating from medical school gives you a Doctor of Medicine (MD). Residency programs range from 2 to 7 years depending on your speciality (neurology, general surgery, etc). For certification, you must complete the residency along with an internship (but this usually combined in your residency program). You will be an attending physician and can practice medicine but will be limited because you must pass a lot of tests that run continuously throughout your career in medicine. In the UK... (I am not entirely familiar with this..sorry :-/) You will apply for medical studies right after your graduate from high school. There are different tests for admission. The UK has a certain application and a certain number of universities that you can apply to, I believe it is four. The tests include United Kingdom Clinical Aptitude Test and BioMedical Admissions Test. If you are an international student, they have limited spots. The BioMedical test is offered in various places in the US and you can find them online. You will graduate with your Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. You can practice medicine but it is supervised, called the Foundation Programme. You then apply for Foundation Schools which are ranking by your grades in medical school and answers to questions asked during the process. After completing the Foundation Programme...to work as a General Practitioner, you must complete two year of posts in a speciality as a Senior House Officer. There are several exams for promotion and I am not exactly sure how the rest of the system goes but you can look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_education_in_the_United_Kingdom I am a Civil Engineering and pre-medicine student in the United States. Engineering is a difficult major as it is and the two are not that related. It is difficult and I would say...that I probably do not have as much time to unwind as my friends who are not pre-med or who are who have a similar major to pre-med (like biology, biomedical engineering, chemistry). I went to high school in the US and during my 10th year I considered going to a school in the UK but decided not to because I wanted to practice medicine in the US. It is VERY difficult to practice medicine long-term in the US if you did not complete all of your medical education here. You can have temporary visa to practice medicine but if you want to practice long term, you must start your education over. If you decide to get your education here and then work in UK, I am not that familiar with it. I know you would need to get a work visa and it takes a very long time so I hear. (sorry this looks like a lot...but I copied and pasted alot of the UK information)

Both universities have an excellent reputation. In the recent TES list (across all subjects) UCL was higher. But f you HAVE to choose "the best" for your specific subject to get your scholarship then you need to use your government's definition of "best".

The best thing for you to do would probably be to consult the UCAS website. UCAS is the central application agency which handles almost all applications to UK universities and through which you will also have to apply if you want to study here. The link below is for the part of their website which gives specific details for non-UK citizens: http://www.ucas.ac.uk/students/nonukstudents/ In terms of the universities that offer the courses you're after, if you use the 'course search' function it should allow you to search for all of the universities in the country that offer the sort of course you're after. You can then check out the individual requirements for each university on their websites (they will all be a little different and so there's no point in listing them here).

consult a school counselor maybe they can help you
2 :
Very unlikely. You might get a job as a research assistant for a few days. It will mostly be data analysing. They may also want more experience for this, but you can try. You may be allowed to shadow someone, but you should really be trained to carry out the tests. And you may get an admin post attached, which will at least let you know how they work. You are limited by (possible) lack of experience with computer statistical programs, psychological report formatting, administering tests - you should really be trained to do this. Of course, your first problem is finding somewhere nearby that researches parapsychology. You can look up local areas online through google, possibly, then send a covering letter and CV expressing your interest, dedication, and relevant skills. Your school will probably help you contact them, once you have somewhere in mind, and can deal with all the health and safety forms, etc. You biggest problem will be finding somewhere, there are very few serious and authentic research places, (and I have my doubts about the objectivity of those, but that's entirely personal)

The Seventh-day Adventist Church strongly believes that Jesus is God (John 1:1-3,14). He is the MESSIAH. He is the Savior. Isaiah 7:14 prophesied the Virgin Birth of Christ our Savior. Indeed he is the Messiah. He will return with power in glory at the end of time as he has promised(Acts 1:9-11). This is a fact, not fiction. Beware of false teachers that tell you otherwise. Beware of those who deny the deity of Christ. Jesus died on the Cross for the Sins of the World(John 3:16). Jesus is God(John 1:1-3). He was one with God the Father in the Creation of the World (Genesis 1:1). Special note to all Jews, Atheists and Agnostics: According to the 19th century Scholar Henry Liddon, Jesus fulfilled to the letter no fewer than 332 Old Testament Prophecies. 29 Messianic Prophecies were fulfilled in the final 24 hours of his life alone. Is 4 too young for full time school? UK mums your experiences please?
In the UK all kids start full time school at 4 years old....my daughter is due to go to nursery in January and she's just 3...she'll get two terms of Nursery and then start school when she is just 4....it seems so little to go and spend all day at school. Other countries seem to send their kids later....what were your experiences? The nursey place are happy to have her attend for two hours a day...so thats not a big concern...I know you have to let them go in the end but its school next year Im a bit worried about.

hey hun i think it completely differs with each child. It depends on how socially confident they are and how advanced they are. For example my daughter turns 4 on 13th September.. so she only starts part time nursery this year. Had she been born 2 weeks earlier she would have started nursery last year and starting reception class this year!! In my daughters case, she is totally ready to start full time. She has been attending playgroup since she was 2.5 years old and loves it. I'm disappointed she will only go part time but hopefully she'll go full time after Xmas. If you dont feel comfortable sending your daughter to nursery full time, can you not opt for a part time place? if not - then maybe look into playgroups in your area, they usually run for 3 hours each morning and are a great way to 'break your child in' easily! good luck hun xxxxxxx

Hello this september i have a 5 yr old and a 4 yr old starting school so my nerves will be on edge!!! I think 4 is ok if the child can go to the toilet dress themselves, my 2 kids can't wait i better hurry up and sew in their name tags. The 4 yr old is starting reception for the whole day. While my 5 yr old will be starting his first year at school. Then its only me and my 2 and half yr old at home. Good luck and don't worry

its not 2 early 2 start skool at 4. but when the chid turns 5, she MUST b in skool. i am studying CACHE Diploma in childcare and education
4 :
My parents are British and My sister and I were born in America so Sister started at 5 years old and I started when we lived near Sheffield so I started early. I had a minor case of dyslexia and I truely believe that starting early was what taught me how to deal with it so well. I think that if I had waited until 5 i would have picked up on alot of bad behaviors and I never would have been able to correct them. No one would ever tell that I have minor dyslexia if I never mentioned it. Not to mention the school that I went to in England was just so much better. I wish I could afford to go over to UK and let my daughter start a year early and have one year in those schools......But it does depend on the child. My daughter and most children of US parents are in Daycare fulltime so when they transition to school it isn't much of a shock. Maybe start her with 2 hours now but closer to when school starts maybe send her for longer days so it isn't much of a shock.

it would be good to go to a drama school and to get an agent sorry i don't know any but you might have to go to a drama school away from where you live if you want the best for you. but if you are smart and can do well at college then get your A levels so you've always got a back up performing arts is a hard thing to get into i'm in the exact same position as you i wanted to go to a performing arts college nut ma dad made me change my mind and get my Alevels but still do lessons outside of college and i am going to do performing arts at college as well so i get abit of both then study an academic ceree at uni while trying to get into the theatre so keep your options open all the time. it hurts like hell letting go of your dream even a little but you have to, to get the most you can out of life. prepare to be rejected alot as well. i know i haven't exactly answered your question but i thought you should know the options. when you get a agent you should pay any think upfront ligament agents take 10% of your earnings not payed upfront. try to find some open auditions yourself so you get some experience because most of performing comes from performance not from what you learn in class. good luck with your cereer

If you are serious about acting and becoming a professional then training is the way to go.

If you are at least 5'9" and serious about modeling you really need to move to London, where most of the big agencies are located Top agencies are - Storm, IMG, Select, Models 1, Next, M and P, Cape, Premier

Yeah. No problem. All children must attend school by law so just call in and ask your local primary school. If they're full they'll give you a list of schools with places.
2 :
Sadly head teachers do not like to take children into school for short periods. The additional work it imposes on teachers is significant and there are often concerns when children enter SATs years, i.e. at ages 7 and 11. If your children are bright then schools are more likely to be welcoming than not. If your children have special needs head teachers often find reason to say no. I recommend that you visit a local primary school, state that you are new to the area, sell your children to the head teacher and get a place. Then when it comes time to leave let the school know with apologies and thanks. I understand that this seems slightly underhand but it will make entry much easier. I would love to say that everything would be easy without this but the realities of life in the world of education prevent this.

In UK, they ALREADY speak English. In the Philippines, English is their 2nd language, so if you're in America, they still require you to take a second language class to graduate HS. Even though you ALREADY know how to speak English. Not sure if that answered your question. If you want to take a test in Tagalog and you're good at it, that's probably required to graduate. I can't speak it anymore, then finish HS in PI. Which one are you best at? Sorry, I attended HS in USA.

Just take the class again if you can...specially if you fail it then even though it lowers your average, you can always show that you re took it... but the best thing is to talk to your teacher and ask for help, tutoring and special work you can do to dramatically change your grade..... if the teachers see that you asked for help................. you tell your teacher that you would like to talk to her and you say it 5 minutes before class is over...then when class is over you talk to him or her directly is the best thing...... now if your teacher isnt good or cant explain the class right, then you have to go to the principal for help..........explain your case... grades can be changed by the right people......... best of luck. I hope this helps you.. .please let me know.

How much does it cost to erect a riding menage/outdoor school? (UK £)

How much does it cost to erect a riding menage/outdoor school? (UK £)?
How much does it cost to build a 20m x 40m outdoor riding menage, with something like a silica sand or rubber chip surface, deep enough for showjumping and dressage, with all the proper drainage etc, floodlit, post and rail fenced with gate? Like roughly? Preferably in uk pounds. And i know it would probably require planning permission, i just want to get an idea of how much it costs. Thanks :)

Two things to determine, how much levelling would be needed and what sort of soil are you on? We converted a tennis court into an arena 20 x 40 last year so there was not much ground work to do. The railings were already around the outside (tennis court was in the field) and as there were drains already under the court that cut back on the cost. We provided and did what little railing that was needed and the entry gate. We did have stone put on the broken up surface of the court then a membrane, sand and rubber chips on the top. The total coast was about £17,000 which did include some other ground work - scalpings for and building a track to the arena. It also included the boards to hold the surface in place. I had a local firm do the work as one of the men use to do arenas for a big company. I did get quotes from several companies for the same in surfacing and they ranged from £24,000 - £32,000
