I don't have any outstanding debts, but after discovering that it is almost impossible for me to get an apartment here after my dad defaulted on my last lease agreement I've decided to go finish my schooling in the UK. Will my bad credit follow me?

yes it will because of your decision to not pay your bills. You think your credit will change like a magic wand? It will show up and you should be ashamed!

First of all unlike what the guy below said you definitely should not be ashamed of yourself unless you got bad credit on purpose. Having done loans for a very long I can tell you most people have something like this in there background and it makes you no better or worse of a person. That said no it will not follow you around, you will start fresh and new. Your SS number is only good in the US so there is no way for it to follow you.
