to answer your question: there are very few Chinese in the UK, those few are rich or middleclass who moved from China, so they are likely to have smarter children, it's the few clever ones who are in the UK. also have YOU NOTICED that girls get better grades than boys yet what men have invented and and contributed to society is way more than women ever have? PROOF that there is a difference between being a nerd and clever also it says ''(A*-C grade)'' for all we know the majority of Chinese people in the group may have 5 C's yet the white British may have 5 A*!!!! but as I said, the main reason is there are many super qualified people in China (because there are so many people in China in general) and so there are so many super qualified unemployed, so they come to the UK people who are super qualified are usually smart, smart people usually have smart children Think about it, you only see the high achieving Chinese people's kids, not the kids of the millions of Chinese that applied for a UK visa and got rejected.

ya their parents are very VERY STRICT.......same goes for the indian students .... i am indian but my parents are NOT nagging ....they have given me my space .....but still i need to get respectable marks.....wateva.....

Because respect and discipline is a big thing in their culture so they don't mind listenting to teachers 8 hours a day. My only goal in school was to get out ASAP w/o getting caught. Edit: LOL who thumbed MLK down!

Paren'ts are strict And because their language is harder to remember. Its not as easy as English.. So they have a easy time remembering stuff. Oh and there arent many Chinese here in England...i'd say more Vietnamese.. Probably a lot of Chinese coming to study at University i don't remember in Secondary schools though Girls do better. Go girls lol.. Easy

Because you have to be upper-middle class to wealthy to immigrate to the UK, especially if you come from China. Think about it, you only see the high achieving Chinese people's kids, not the kids of the millions of Chinese that applied for a UK visa and got rejected.

Chinese students generally perform well because their parents are very strict when it comes to the grades they get.
